Westcoast Wills & Estates believes that every business should contribute to the society it serves.  To that end, we donate 1% of every purchase to the charity of our clients’ choosing among our chosen charities for that given year.  In past years, we have supported a variety of charities:  see 2013, see 2014, see 2015, see 2016, see 2017, see 2018.  In 2019, we are supporting the following charities:

  • North Shore Community Resources: Serving the North Shore, by extending a hand up to those in need.  Helping to restore our neighbours to health, and stability benefits the whole community.

In 2018, Westcoast Wills & Estates was proud to donate thousands of dollars to the following three charities:

Environment:

  • Canadian Parks & Wilderness Society: Their mission is to protect at least 50% of Canada’s wilderness and oceans, keeping B.C.’s great parks, oceans and ecosystems wild for this century and beyond.

Social:

  • Harvest Project: Serving the North Shore, by extending a hand up to those in need.  Helping to restore our neighbours to health and stability benefits the whole community.

International Humanitarian:

In 2017, Westcoast Wills & Estates was proud to donate thousands of dollars to the following three charities:

Environment:

  • BC SPCA: Their mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.

Social:

  • North Shore Search & Rescue: Their mission is to search for, rescue and assist people in distress; and educate the public about the North Shore’s back-country.

International Humanitarian:

In 2016, Westcoast Wills & Estates was proud to donate thousands of dollars to each of the following charities:

Environment:

  • Wilderness Committee:  Their mission is to protect Canada’s life-giving biological diversity through strategic research and grassroots public education.

Social:

  • Access Pro Bono Society of BC: Their mission is to promote access to justice in BC by providing and fostering quality pro bono legal services for people and non-profit organizations of limited means.

International Humanitarian

Health:

Environment:

  • Nature Conservancy of Canada: They target key areas across the country where habitat conservation is needed. They protect and care for ecologically important habitats, with a focus on rare and at-risk species.

Social:

  • Access Pro Bono Society of BC: Their Mission is to promote access to justice in BC by providing and fostering quality pro bono legal services for people and non-profit organizations of limited means.

International Humanitarian

In 2014, Westcoast Wills & Estates was proud to donate thousands of dollars to the following four charities:

  • David Suzuki Foundation: Works through science and education to protect the diversity of nature and our quality of life, now and for the future.

Social:

  • Family Services of North Vancouver:  The community-based agency offers education, support and counselling services and has been caring for residents of the North Shore for over 60 years.

International Humanitarian:

 In other years, we have supported a variety of charities:  see 2013, see 2015, see 2016.   In 2017, we are supporting charities again.

In 2013, Westcoast Wills donated 3% of our revenue to the following charities:

Health:

Environment:

  • Ecojustice Canada:  Canada’s foremost non-profit environmental law organization working to protect the environment by going to court to defend the right of Canadians to a healthy environment.
  • David Suzuki Foundation: Works through science and education to protect the diversity of nature and our quality of life, now and for the future.

Social Justice:

  • Pivot Foundation: Works to end poverty and marginalization through mostly legal means particularly in the downtown eastside of Vancouver.

Animal Welfare:

  • BC SPCA: The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) protects and enhances the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia.
