1% to Charity
Westcoast Wills & Estates believes that every business should contribute to the society it serves. To that end, we donate 1% of every purchase to charity. Sounds small, but it adds up to over $100,000 donated so far.
Charities in 2023
In 2023, Westcoast Wills & Estates are proud to have already donated thousands of dollars to the following three charities:
Environment:
- CPAWS BC: Their mission is to protect at least 50% of Canada’s wilderness and oceans, keeping B.C.’s great parks, oceans and ecosystems wild for this century and beyond.
Social:
- Family Services of the North Shore: Helps young people overcome desperate lives on the street so they can make a fresh start.
International Humanitarian:
- Canadian Red Cross: Helps people and communities in Canada and around the world in times of need and supports them in strengthening their resilience.
Charities in 2020 – 2022 (Covid)
Throughout the pandemic, Westcoast Wills & Estates was proud to donate thousands of dollars to the following charities:
Environment:
- CPAWS BC: Their mission is to protect at least 50% of Canada’s wilderness and oceans, keeping B.C.’s great parks, oceans and ecosystems wild for this century and beyond.
- Ecojustice: Canada’s foremost non-profit environmental law organization working to protect the environment by going to court to defend the right of Canadians to a healthy environment.
- Nature Trust of British Columbia: Dedicated to the management of over 480 conservation properties spanning 175,000 acres of land in the province.
Social:
- Covenant House: Helps young people overcome desperate lives on the street so they can make a fresh start.
- Indian Residential School Survivors Society: Provides services to support Indian Residential School survivors, students and intergenerational survivors.
International Humanitarian:
- Rainbow Railroad: In countries around the world, LGBTQI+ people face violence and oppression simply because of who they love or who they are. Rainbow Railroad helps them get to safety.

In 2019, Westcoast Wills & Estates was proud to donate thousands of dollars to the following three charities:
Environment:
- Nature Trust of British Columbia: Dedicated to the management of over 480 conservation properties spanning 175,000 acres of land in the province.
Social:
- North Shore Community Resources: Serving the North Shore, by extending a hand up to those in need. Helping to restore our neighbours to health, and stability benefits the whole community.
International Humanitarian:
- Doctors without Borders: The world’s leading independent international medical humanitarian organization.

Environment:

- Harvest Project: Serving the North Shore, by extending a hand up to those in need. Helping to restore our neighbours to health and stability benefits the whole community.

- BC SPCA: Their mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in B.C.
Social:
- North Shore Search & Rescue: Their mission is to search for, rescue and assist people in distress; and educate the public about the North Shore’s back-country.
International Humanitarian:
- Doctors without Borders: The world’s leading independent international medical humanitarian organization.

In 2016, Westcoast Wills & Estates was proud to donate thousands of dollars to each of the following charities:
Environment:
- Wilderness Committee: Their mission is to protect Canada’s life-giving biological diversity through strategic research and grassroots public education.
Social:
- Access Pro Bono Society of BC: Their mission is to promote access to justice in BC by providing and fostering quality pro bono legal services for people and non-profit organizations of limited means.
International Humanitarian
- Doctors without Borders: The world’s leading independent international medical humanitarian organization.

- BC Cancer Foundation: The largest charitable funder of cancer research in British Columbia.
Environment:
- Nature Conservancy of Canada: They target key areas across the country where habitat conservation is needed. They protect and care for ecologically important habitats, with a focus on rare and at-risk species.
Social:
- Access Pro Bono Society of BC: Their Mission is to promote access to justice in BC by providing and fostering quality pro bono legal services for people and non-profit organizations of limited means.
International Humanitarian
- Doctors without Borders: The world’s leading independent international medical humanitarian organization.

- David Suzuki Foundation: Works through science and education to protect the diversity of nature and our quality of life, now and for the future.
Social:
- Family Services of North Vancouver: The community-based agency offers education, support and counselling services and has been caring for residents of the North Shore for over 60 years.
International Humanitarian:
- Doctors without Borders: The world’s leading independent international medical humanitarian organization.

Environment:
- Ecojustice Canada: Canada’s foremost non-profit environmental law organization working to protect the environment by going to court to defend the right of Canadians to a healthy environment.

- Pivot Foundation: Works to end poverty and marginalization through mostly legal means particularly in the downtown eastside of Vancouver.

Animal Welfare:
- BC SPCA: The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) protects and enhances the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia.
