Mark’s practice covers both corporate law and comprehensive estate planning, including the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and representation agreements. Mark also guides executors through estate administration, assisting with probate applications and providing steady, practical advice from the opening of an estate through to its close.
Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Mark initially pursued a career in the sciences, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from Dalhousie University. After spending time working on freshwater conservation projects, Mark shifted focus to the legal field, attending the University of Saskatchewan, where he earned his law degree. He earned his Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation from STEP Canada after law school.
Prior to joining Westcoast Wills & Estates, Mark practiced in corporate and estates law at a boutique law firm in downtown Vancouver. Mark also brings a unique, practical perspective to his probate practice, having previously served as a Trust Officer at a trust company in Vancouver.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing music, playing soccer, traveling, and spending time with friends. While Mark has left marine biology behind, he remains fully prepared to draft a trust for your pet fish, should the need ever arise.
