Mudit was born and raised in New Delhi, India, before moving to California, USA for university, where he graduated with Bachelor of Science from San Jose State University. He holds a Master of Finance from the University of Cambridge, UK and received his Juris Doctor (JD) law degree from UBC in 2021.
During law school, Mudit participated in the Bowman Tax Moot and received numerous awards, including the prestigious Honourable R.L. Maitland Memorial Scholarship for highest academic standing in second year of law. He was also involved with the Animal Justice-UBC Chapter and Law Student’s Legal Advice Program (LSLAP). After completing law school, Mudit started his legal career at two boutique tax law firms, each associated with the Big Four global accounting firms.
Mudit’s current practice focuses on estate taxation, corporate restructuring, tax dispute resolution, and estate & trust planning. He assists clients with tax planning, including advising executors on “pipeline” transactions and loss carry backs to avoid multiple layers of taxation to the estate, corporate restructuring, including estate freezes and intergenerational business transfer, inter vivos trust & estate planning, and filing notices of objection with the Canada Revenue Agency upon reassessment. Mudit also prepares wills and other estate planning documents.
Mudit spends his time away from work listening to Hindi and Punjabi music, hiking on the north shore trails, looking for delicious vegan restaurants, and supporting disability rights causes. He is fluent in English and Hindi.
